Managers at the Cedar Park Center said construction of the Texas Stars hockey rink is 95 percent complete, and on schedule.

Texas music legend George Strait will open the center with a concert Sept. 25.

The Texas Stars begin their first season in the American Hockey League this fall.

The center will host more than 100 events a year, including concerts, sporting events and family shows.

The $55 million venue is expected to create about 450 jobs.
